Designed primarily for ballplayers age 5-6, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.
Spring seson games begin in mid- to late- April and run through the first week of June.
Players are provided team hat, jersey, & baseball socks.
Team bats & helmets are provided but players may bring their own as long as they are Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth approved.
Players must have their own baseball glove & baseball pants and are strongly encouraged to wear baseball cleats and an athletic supporter ("cup").
Teams meet 1 time during the week for a 1-1.5 hour practice and 1.5 hour for games on Saturday afternoons.
Games and practices are scheduled at Settlers Park in Southbury & Shepardson Park in Middlebury.
Practice day and time is scheduled after registration is complete and teams are formed.
